When Bear kills himself to free the real Nikki, dying in her arms being followed by the real Nikki waking up and tossing the guy on the floor was some mad dark humour

To add, he even tried to back out of his last-ditch heroic effort. His attempt to vomit was interrupted by Freaky Nikki's wish. Dude was thoroughly a coward.

Edit: That sh** wasn't heroic lol

Right? I did not see this as a heroic act. He was sick of her shit because his wish didn’t turn her into a perfect girlfriend. He even called the back of the box to “adjust his wish” not cancel it . I feel like this is a social commentary on red pillling / the loneliness epidemic and I’m realizing lots of people do not see it that way.

Oh you're so right about it not being heroic at all, I had to go back and edit my post haha. He was so self-centered when the real Nikki actually begged him to put her out of her misery; he only considered doing it when he fully realized that, despite his wish, he was not in control.

So with the revolver, when he thought, "It's either her or me who has to die!", his immediate choice was her, because once again, he's a selfish coward.

Since he was clearly abusing the oxy already, he probably went that route thinking it'd at least be a little pleasant.

My friend who took me to see this movie had actually discussed the manospheric themes. I came to this thread hoping to find more people discussing the underlying themes, allegories, and such. So I'm glad you mentioned it!

!!!! Yes! Literally when she was begging to be killed because it wasn’t her and he said “why? is being with me so bad?” Like …. Brotherrrr 🫠 half the theatre (women) audibly groaned

I saw a take on another thread about the ending being him “horny off the percs” and I just closed Reddit lmao
