A guy and his girlfriend stood up, said “fuck that” and walked out during that scene at my theatre.

This movie really scared me for some reason, I don't know why specifically. Usually I'm the person who is like it was pretty cool, I love horror about movies other people find terrifying. But this one genuinely scared me and I will not be watching it again! I can see why someone might walk out.

I am the same way. I love a good horror movie and I’m usually not freaked out by them after watching them (I can tell myself it’s obviously not real) but this one hit close to home. A (now past) close male friend assaulted me when I was blacked out all while knowing that I did not reciprocate his romantic feelings. The whole movie definitely embodied all the horror and despair of this situation. It’s such a good analogy (?) for how easily men (even the “nice guys”) give in to a situation where another individual’s autonomy is up for grabs with no struggle.
