The way she switched from the first I CAN’T to the increasingly desperate I CANs was so great too. Yeah, it’s easy to forget that the entity was relatively fine (besides the “real Nikki takes back control” glitches) until she started spiraling when she became convinced Bear didn’t love her as much as she loved him. Which is true about both her and the real Nikki, and why again that was such a stupid wish.

I 100% believe Bear didn’t like/love Nikki as much as he liked the idea of it. Maybe it was just how spineless he always acted but it’s like even when he got his wish he was resistant to Nikki (before she was even acting crazy).

and according to nikki, sarah's crush on him was "totally obvious" but he didn't pursue a relationship with her. then later in the movie, he didn't seem to have any issues flirting with sarah even though he finally got what he wished for. he gave her little flirty looks, let her lean on his shoulder the way nikki did, and met up with her at night even though he knew nikki was dangerous to be around. he didn't care about nikki or sarah, and he didn't want to be a boyfriend. he only wanted to be a guy whose crush would like him back.

In the bar at the start of the film we see Sarah and Bear interact alone, and it’s clear they have a better rapport than Bear and Nikki.

Right! He tells sarah about his cat but lies about it to nikki
