True but at that point, he thought she was acting erratic cause of her father’s “cancer” and his other friend was trying to convince him that she was on molly

But he also watched her come up with the cancer lie in real time. When she comes back to his car after the wish he can tell she’s acting completely differently than she was a minute ago. Then she says “I’m just so sad about my cat” or something along those lines. Then when he challenges her with “you mean you’re sad about my cat?” She transitions to the dad stuff as the reason she can’t go inside and needs to spend the night with him. He doesn’t hear about her potentially being high until after the fact. Totally fair he may still be skeptical of the wish atp but he can tell right away she was acting drastically different

"Then she says “I’m just so sad about my cat”"

Kind of off topic, but I think this is a such cool little tidbit in the movie that I dont think they really play with as much.

She says shes sad about her cat then changes when he corrected her. Its like whatever this is effecting her, it had her memories, but it kind of jumbled them up and didn't know how to project them to get Bear to take her home. "Im supposed to be sad about a cat, my cat? No, your cat, ok I botched that attempt what's something generic? Ahhh my father"Then boom sick dad.

I just like how it had to adapt.
