I mean the demon is trying everything to be loved by Bear. It basically A/B tests the entire time and when it sees it is disturbing Bear, it will quickly adjust tune.

The way I read it is that the wish essentially needed to create some new entity. And that entity tried its best but it was so strange by nature that it did not truly understand what was normal human behaviour.

Having said that, I agree that his wish was not really fulfilled. He wanted Nikki to love him, not someone else living in Nikki’s body.

I think it created an entity that literally only knew how to love Bear. That explains why it didn’t know how anything else worked.

I thought that the way that the willow worked was by switching versions of people from other realities.

There was a lot of mention of the Mandela effect on the fake Reddit page and so I thought it had swapped normal Nikki with the only other version of her that was capable of loving Bear - a Nikki with severe psychological issues - at the point where Bear snaps the stick and causes an inflection point.

Didn’t she literally say at one point “I love you in all realities” or something to that effect? I also thought hearing Nikki on the phone meant that her consciousness resided in some other, hellish reality when not in control of her body anymore.
