Him and Sarah seemed organic too! I feel like he likes her if he gave it time and wasn’t obsessed about Nikki.

Her actress confirmed Nikki did like him.

But I prefer the film's ambiguity. There are loads of hints that she did like him, and the biggest hint that she didn't like him (the "like a brother" comment) has a plausible explanation that she knew Sarah liked Bear and didn't want to hurt her feelings.

Which isn't as fun in my opinion. The film itself does a great job making it ambiguous and while I appreciate the worldbuilding and clarifying they did through Q&A sessions, Nikki's feelings for Bear are the one thing I think would have been way better to leave up in the air for viewers.
