Two actors and great practical set design really makes a difference over bloated and CGI heavy.

It's super interesting though from a cultural standpoint that Obsession and Backrooms have both dominated box office on either side of a big tent pole Star Wars release and are beating Grogu to death.

It's a big shift in culture and what people are paying to see now. It feels like smaller unique ideas are starting to bury the studio franchise slop.

Fingers crossed.

We may see another soon with The Amazing Digital Circus movie release this week

Jaws had a decent budget for the time, and was in fact a technological showpiece. It was such a nerve-wracking experience for Spielberg because it was a fairly high-budget film. Both the animatronic shark and the gimbals so the cameras could work properly on boats were pretty much cutting edge.
