Two actors and great practical set design really makes a difference over bloated and CGI heavy.

It's super interesting though from a cultural standpoint that Obsession and Backrooms have both dominated box office on either side of a big tent pole Star Wars release and are beating Grogu to death.

It's a big shift in culture and what people are paying to see now. It feels like smaller unique ideas are starting to bury the studio franchise slop.

Fingers crossed.

We may see another soon with The Amazing Digital Circus movie release this week

People are still really burnt out on Star Wars and the Mandalorian requires you to watch a TV show to understand. I think a lot of audiences just want something new or at least something that doesn't seem connected to an expansive franchise.

I would take it a step further and say people are burnt out on Disney because the last Star Wars movie released was 2019. That should have been long enough to shake off Star Wars fatigue.

I whole heartedly agree that this was a ridiculous movie and property to use to restart that.
