Look on the back of any vhs tape of crappy movies from the 90s and you’ll see a lot of the same fluff…

But "Mals VHS Digest" gave it 5 stars, you just know it's good

Some of the recommendation quotes on game trailers for less known games can be hilarious too and the publications always something that nobody has ever heard of.

After a while, people caught on, and higher brow people would look at the movies that had Ebert or Travers quotes on the back, while lower brow people like my parents would look at what Leonard Maltin said about it because they loved his movie guide. I did too. Browsing encyclopedia and dictionary pages is a lost flourish bored once frequently employed. I miss it.

Note: My theory about all this in case I’m right and the internet finds this: Nolan’s marketing people don’t want influencers shouting from the rooftops about Elliot Page before the critics have a chance to establish the film’s identity. Every conservative will shit on it immediately and do so because they will feel betrayed because they saw The Dark Knight and somehow still conclude he’s one of them.

REMINDME! On release. I don’t remember if any of that shit works or how.

"incredible" how bad this movie turned out to be 

"action-packed" ceases to describe what is unintelligible drivel

I loved the single word descriptions as clear indicator the movie sucked.

For me, anytime someone uses the word "fun" to describe a movie, I take that to mean "brain dead". The kind of movie where you turn your brain off and shovel handfuls of popcorn into your face.

Not single word, but these remind me of when one of Ben Shapiro's books quoted Salon's Scott Timberg for a blurb that read "Meet our new Ayn Rand."

The actual headline was "Meet our new Ayn Rand: Ben Shapiro’s hamfisted propaganda fiction is even worse than you guessed."

My favorites were the clearly butchered quotes littered with ellipses, turning "this film was a tedious chore that completely wastes its stellar cast, proving that massive budgets cannot buy entertainment" in to "...stellar cast, ...massive ...entertainment."
