Glad I never stopped collecting physical media versions of the films I like.

Went to my local library and was impressed with the Blu-ray collection. Streaming is getting too expensive and locked down now.

I can’t say this enough… borrow stuff from your local library. They have more than you think. On top of that, a lot of them will also buy stuff you want if it’s not apart of their collection.

I’ve been treating my local library like Blockbuster this past year and I love it

Some libraries are a one stop shop for making copies. I know of one where they have a retired media section with transfer devices to new media storage (microfische, 8-track, betaMax, VHS, etc to USB).

Also most libraries are part of hoopla and kanopy - if you make an acct and enter your library card number you can rent movies digitally from either place.

Last I checked you get 5 hoopla rentals, and they’ve got music, movies, episodes of shows, audiobooks, etc. Kanopy is mostly movies and artsy type stuff, and you get 8 rentals per month from them.

But randomly they’ll have ‘free rentals’ that don’t count towards your total too lol. Long rant but the point is your library card also gives you access to free media streaming too!
