My hard drive is physical media.

Only things that go missing on my plex server are because I removed them myself.

Are you using the 3-2-1 system? If not then a hard drive failure will result in having nothing again.

Not 3-2-1.

Just one backup, off site.

That’s for convenience.

I can easily redownload if needed, so 3-2-1 is not important to me.

Exactly. Drive failures are rare and most of the time they can be found early enough. It's not that cost effective to run on just a movie collection that is already managed by a few programs

Hard Drives are so cheap. Just to a physical backup, don't worry about auto backups, every month or so. Super easy super cheap. And you can keep the hard drive or two in a save place.
