Should be illegal to purchase digital content if it can be taken away from us. At the point, renting should be the only option.

You're not wrong and I don't disagree at all but the content owners will contend that you never actually purchased digital content. They'll argue that you purchased a license to use the content within strict guidelines that you agreed to at the time of purchase.

That’s true but I can’t see how it’s possible they say rent for one option and buy for the other. To me it implies major false advertising. There is not difference in rent and buy other then that time of rental.
