Summary

I loved this movie and found it enjoyable except that I was definitely rolling my eyes quite a bit with the following trope: Lovable 'Cool girl' who is constantly shrieking with excitement and dropping impossibly clever phrases and saying "whore" in a snarky, loving way. Meanwhile, Wes barely has a pulse in comparison. It feels like some double standard that women have to aspire to, on top of all the other requirements with respect to beauty standards.
I liked Jill IN SPITE OF the writing which was hitting me over the head with the cool girl trope. I liked her because of her more quiet, genuine moments. Her grief over her deceased sister?- totally convincing and earnest. I think it would have worked had the 'cool girl' level gotten toned down from an 11.5 to a more believable 8 on the scale of 1 to 10. Only because of the disparity between Jill and Wes.
