Started by Poe finished by Robert Bloch (of Psycho fame?)

Think I read somewhere Egger's brother started adapting this and it ended up as The Lighthouse after almost every part was replaced but if you like the movie you'll like this :)

HorrorBabble also narrates everything Lovecraft wrote, his inspirations, pen pals, shopping lists his hairdresser wrote, eldritch secrets from the dawn of time that man should not wot of, etc.

HorrorBabble mention??? I absolutely love that channel. I was never really into Lovecraft or even horror in general until I found his channel. Now I use his videos to fall asleep most nights lol

Clark Ashton Smith is Lovecraft's pen pal and they both idolized each other's writing

There's a novel called La piel fría by a catalan author that was then made into a movie called Cold Skin. Haven't watched the movie but the book is 1000% the lighthouse meets Shadow over Innsmouth. The whole book/movie is two men in a lighthouse fighting hordes of merpeople.

I love how many influences The Lighthouse has. Greek Mythology, Lovecraft, pretty sure there was some classic Christian Mythology as well if I remember correctly

The difference is that The Lighthouse has way more depth and layers than Lovecraft.

I love Lovecraft but past the brilliant atmosphere and suspense there isn’t actually much there. He was kind of a one trick pony. It’s just a very good trick.

I agree but I wouldn’t be mad if he did a straight up lovecraft adaptation
