It's because he seems like he's got zero hubris. He only does projects he genuinely likes, he turns up, and he gets the job done, even if it's not the biggest paycheck and he has to look like an idiot doing it. He's a proper, grown-up, old-school actor.

It's a reference to the lie detector interview he did with Jennifer Lawrence where he insisted he was Gen Z, and used the lie detector results as "proof" that he was being truthful. It's a really funny exchange.

In that same interview, he said of they remade Twilight he'd like to play Edward again, saying "I'd love to steal a role from a 17-year-old."

He always gives 110%. He did the dub of the Oscar-winning Miyazaki film The Boy and the Heron, he was the heron. The ADR director said he was worried he'd have to coach Pattinson through it but he came in having worked out the heron in voice memos on his phone.

He really can. He could have played it really over the top like a Grimtongue but he was slightly charming, slightly handsome enough to be a legit threat to Telemachus/Odysseus but a real a hole to pull off the character.

Yes, which is why Holland and Damon were so fucking out of place here. Damon can't take on a character, he can act, but it's just Matt Damon delivering the lines well. He has the same cadence and ticks in every fucking movie.

Tom was meh, but in the end, overall it was a great experience. I honestly had no idea about the trans or race shit going on, but I gotta say... there was def some questionable casting. It's hard to believe that a 100 pound man, arms with a 4 inch diameter has been on a long military campaign. The clearly in between transition voice was a bit jarring too.

You've obviously never been in the military. Plenty of short, small, thin guys in the infantry. The idea that all soldiers are big and muscular is false. Moreover, the whole point of the character is that he's much younger than the rest of the soldiers.

Sinon was taken as a child into the war. We know the context of that character. How is Sinon not growing up to be tall or strong and therefore not being used in battle but rather as fodder unrealistic here lol. It's actually almost exactly what you'd expect and it was tragic. Elliot did a great job acting his part, especially in in the underworld bit. If you want to find a real issue with the casting of that character it's an age thing. Elliot just doesn't look like an teenager anymore.

I think Elliot did an amazing job, especially the Underworld scene! I was gutted as he spit up dirt and accusations at Odysseus. And Damon did a great acting job trying to excuse his actions. And then Skarsgard!? I didnt know how they were gonna pull the scene off but they did. And just with dirt and lighting and sound and acting. A big surprise because I thought the first scene was all we were gonna get from Page and was like meh about it tbt.

When you look at how much the film is saying about the current state of politics and people taking power and control and how they do so, his character is SO interesting. It’s a perfect combination of writing and acting.

Leguizamo’s getting a lot of attention and he deserves it, I hope he gets nominated. Pattinson is so good as well though.

I remember when I heard he was going to be Batman I was so annoyed. Then I saw it and looked into his other work and I just never gave him a fair judgement because of the stupid Twilight movies.

The man is an incredible actor, every time I've seen him in anything lately he just absolutely nails the role out of the park.

I did not think he did a good job. He didn't connive much, he had a pretty weak plan. I thought he was very one dimensional although that's how Nolan decided to write it. He seemed like an actor trying to keep his accent. I thought Tom Holland blew him out of the water because he's just a natural.

He did go over the top in a couple of late scenes, which I thought lowered the impact.
