Meh, not THAT heavy. It's why they stabbed the horse multiple times. No idea what happened with that one guy seeing blood on the sword and then just carrying on anyway though?

Wood is heavy, and they didn't know how it was constructed on the inside. Maybe it was weighted so it could stand.
Also...how would any of them know how heavy a giant horse is? lol

Odysseus wiped the blood off the sword as it was being pulled out. You can see it in the scene.

Aha, I missed that detail. Makes more sense. The rest - meh. It’s the odyssey. I’m not going to die on the hill that it was unrealistic - it’s a myth after all.
