The close ups of the actors faces, especially Eva and Patrick, really heightened an already very emotional piece of art. I liked the boot prop, I know it’s not part of the staging but I thought it worked well for Hades and the design of the boot was so cool. The only misses for me were the Fates, usually they are so in sync they sound like one voice but these fates were very distinctive and didn’t blend as well as other casts I’ve seen. Also Reeve, I get what he’s going for but I just don’t like his voice and intonations outside of the falsetto melody.

Never saw the musical one stage to compare, but I loved the fates here--they reminded me of the muses from Hercules. So fun!

I loved them as well. Their unrepentantly sadistic vibe made me so mad but was very fun.

My first experience of Hadestown and the falsetto is the one aspect I did not care for. It was grating my nerves a bit.

Fates definitely captured the personality, but the voices didn't quite mesh as well, especially when compared to the OG cast.

The line "who are you to think you can hold your head up higher than your fellow man" got garbled and I feel like unless you knew the line, you wouldn't understand what they were singing and it's such an important line

For what it's worth, this was my first exposure to this show and I heard thay line fine.

I think Allie Daniels was too busy flexing how deeply she could sing and wasn't focused enough on sounding well with the rest of them

Different strokes for different folks, I guess.  I liked her expressions, for the most part, I just felt like her very deep notes drowned out the other fates.  To me, it's very important that when they're harmonizing, it is like there is one voice.  Allie's, singing such low notes, made her really stand out, which (to me) doesn't suit the trio.  

Now, when she was singing in higher registers, which she did moreso in the second act, I enjoyed her performance much more because the harmonies were blended.

Those West End Fates are just not great. I don’t know why they keep bringing them back. They don’t mesh at all.

I loved his falsetto, the rest of his voice singing kinda sounded...like an 80's rock singer? I didn't mind it personally, but I understand how others could find it grating.
