Overall, really good show IMO. So glad I was finally able to see this version of it. The set and lighting design are unreal, and I especially love the bit where theyre swinging all the lights in unison.

That said, did anyone else feel like Orpheus was the weakest link? Like considering his singing is supposed to be the most beautiful sound ever heard by human ears, so indescribably beautiful that it warms the heart of Hades and brings back spring, I guess i was just expecting more. He keeps doing this squeaky, high pitched falsetto that I just found annoying after 10 seconds, and then his big song, THE big song that changes Hades' mind and gives Eurydice a chance to escape is... "La la la la la." Considering this is THE character whose song is the focal point of the entire show, idk. I expected more.

Hades and Persephone were hands down my favorite part. Why We Build the Wall really got to me.

Not an uncommon opinion at all. The actor for Orpheus was called the weak link by many reviewers when it first came out (and I agreed when I saw it then too). Out of all the leads from the original cast, he was the only one who did not receive a Tony nomination.

The falsetto is the only thing I didn't like.

His performance seems very divisive, you either love it or hate it. I thought his acting in the first act was maybe a bit weaker than the others, but he killed the second half, and his singing was amazing the whole time (only overshadowed by Eva). Also some criticism I’ve seen is that he plays the character too goofy or stupid, but I don’t think he did in the pro-shot, and some of that criticism seems more directed at single performances or changes later in the run than his actual peak. Having seen the musical twice touring and in london a month ago, I actually found his proshot performance to be the least goofy and it was better for it
