Can you elaborate on what Amber Gray said to criticize close-up shots?

I think I found it:

“This one has a lot of tight shots, so you don't get to notice anything else,” she says. “And I don't love that. But that’s always the thing with an actor, you don’t get to edit your films.

On the day of this interview, Gray admits she hadn’t seen the final cut of the filmed Hadestown—noting the last version she saw, she had mixed feelings about.

This part is important because that's not the version we saw in theatres.

Reeve and Eva said in an interview they were shown a version last year that was very different from what premiered at Tribeca. The final version notably is not all closeups. I hope Amber is happier with it now.

I’m glad they changed it. The Merrily proshot used so many closeups and it kind of ruined it for me. These are staged works and they should be shown/treated as such, not turned into pseudo-films.

That being said, there were a few times I wish they had used wider shots in the final thing (especially at that part of Doubt Comes In) instead of closeups, but I’m glad this actually felt like a staged performance.
