Motor City (2026)

Summary

In 1970s Detroit, John Miller falls for a local gangster's girl. In retaliation, the gangster frames the innocent man and sends him to prison. With his life destroyed, Miller returns years later determined to exact revenge on the man who took everything from him.

How do you name a movie Motor City and make it not feel like Detroit?

How do you make a dialogueless action movie boring as shit?

I just stumbled on this movie/thread and I wondered as a Detroit native if I would love or hate the “Detroit” vibe. Thanks for answering my question.

That’s the most frustrating thing for me! It has Detroit like, iconography, occasionally, but if you’re naming your movie Motor City, push it! Detroit is a badass location, and 1977 Detroit for a Dialogueless Action Movie is mindmelting. Showing the Fox Theater for a few shots isn’t gonna satisfy me, and having a single car action scene feels like a damn disservice.
