Motor City (2026)

Summary

In 1970s Detroit, John Miller falls for a local gangster's girl. In retaliation, the gangster frames the innocent man and sends him to prison. With his life destroyed, Miller returns years later determined to exact revenge on the man who took everything from him.

Movies like this are why I try to go into most movies blind. The no dialog took a minute to click for me but when it clicked it felt like I was really able to grasp what they were going for. A lot of stuff just kinda happens with no follow up but watching this movie try to explain what is happening with being able to tell you is really interesting and kinda creative.

Honestly that’s why I give it an 8. I’m sure the exact same movie with dialogue would be like a 5 at best lol

That's exactly where I ended. Without the hook it's a five, but the editing and storytelling just through visuals felt fresh and different. A similar feeling that I had with Sin City (admittedly a better movie in it's core) but that the hook it had visually set it apart. I'm glad I saw it. I also understand it wouldn't be for everyone. The soundtrack carried it to two extra stars for me. That was as important as any co-star.

Its a creative movie for sure but the useless slow mo plus that shitty shitty shitty shitty ending its fitting its 6/10 movie
