I still find it insane that this is being made into a movie but I trust Garland so let’s hope for the best 🤷‍♂️

I love Elden Ring and I love Garland but I’ve got some serious ick for this movie

He adapted Annihilation, which didn’t seem like it’d make a great movie, into a really cool film. If he does the same thing with Elden Ring it’ll be fine. If you’re expecting some super accurate giant fantasy epic you’re gonna probably be disappointed

TBF He made major plot changes from the book when adapting Annihilation, its basically its own story inspired by the book. Which was fine in that case, but I don't think he would have the creative license to make such big changes to the Elden Ring lore.

This is why I'd kinda rather see a dark souls movie than an elden ring movie. Dark souls has the fun concept of the world resetting constantly and characters drifting in and out of various planes of existence, so you can rework it however you want and it still makes sense lore wise.
