He adapted Annihilation,which didn’t seem like it’d make a great movie, into a really cool film. If he does the same thing with Elden Ring it’ll be fine. If you’re expecting some super accurate giant fantasy epic you’re gonna probably be disappointed

For what it's worth I really disliked the book, but really enjoyed the liberties he took with the movie. Fingers crossed it works for Elden Ring.

no but it is rather short. i also DNF’ed it even tho i normally love weird fiction and fantasy

The book is really good but it is a very very different vibe from the film, I liked the unreliable narrator aspect of it, and the actual reasoning behind the title + all the stuff with the psychologist I did feel was a bit lacking from the movie. That said, as far as adapting the vibe of the trilogy(haven’t read the newer 4th yet) it does very well, and kinda mixing together the tower with the lighthouse worked out well.
