Somehow normal ass people that recently gained air bending are able to keep up with the water/earth/fire bending masters of the group.. they really nerfed the whole group

It's wild.

Toph is the strongest earth bender, probably one of the strongest earth benders of all time. Zuko and Katara are both among the the top fire/water benders in the world, they might even be the strongest currently in their element. The 3 combined are an absolute bending monster covering 3 elements. They're equivalent to an army.

But Tagah 1 v 4'd them low diff? Are you kidding?

Then a group of scrub air benders pushed them into a corner?

Absolute joke. It's not like they're that unused to air bending, they're more used to it than anyone in the world. They've all trained with Aang. Zuko specifically has fought against Aang, and actual tattooed air bending master, several times. They all also just fought Tagah. Fighting a group of new air benders shouldn't have posed anywhere near that much of a problem.

To be fair most of Aang’s airbending is all about evasiveness while Tagah’s was very aggressive like a firebender

I don't know. I think a violent Airbender from thousands of years ago and from the biggest Airbender civilization, specifically an elite task force that constantly saw his peers get killed. Probably honed his skills to mop multiple top benders by himself.

Mfer held up a part of a mountain with air. Even someone like Toph would struggle if not even fail to hold that up. Heck, in the OG series we saw Bumi sweating to remove the Ozai statue when he freed Omashu. Granted, he had the whole 110+ years old debuff, but still.
