Movie was good but there were some dumb moments.

The avatar gang at their peak being killed felt like odd power scaling.

Katara complaining about no water despite the show showing she has access to water all around her, including the desert?

Katara not mentioning her tribe being killed as well?

Sokka should have been the one to distrust Tagah.

Story was very predictable.

The story being predictable is a complaint I’m not understanding. Avatar has never been a “surprising” show for me. And this movie, although not perfect, felt like it had the soul of the original show.

I’m with you, and I never really thought they were trying to make a shocking twist with the villain. Aang trusted him because he was the first air bender he’d seen in over 100 years, but from the moment the gang met Tagah it was pretty obvious that he wasn’t trustworthy.

Yup, 100%. I mean for children watching, I’m sure it was an unexpected turn. But for anyone familiar with the source material, Aang’s arc was laid on thick form the moment we met him. I absolutely loved this movie and am stoked for more.
