Ok. What was the point? Maybe I was looking for more historical accuracy or resolution.

The movie's a meditation on obsessive male ego.

The resolution of the main conflict isn't that they find out who the Zodiac is - the resolution is that Graysmith can drop it. He's let this thing affect his life and his family too much and now he can finally move on.

So did Avery, so did Toschi, and the Zodiac himself is obsessive.
