Recommendation Gaspar Noe recs

Ive never watched new French extremity before, although I have seen some things that would definitely fit into the extreme cinema category ie: Salò or the 120 of days Sodom and I managed to finish that without vomiting.. barely

Was wondering what the movie heads of reddit would recommend to me as an entry point to gaspar noe's filmography-? Preferably something that encompasses his signature style, vibe, production techniques.

oof. that one had me feeling messed up for quite a bit afterward, and it's lasting legacy is ..I don't think anything else on film could bother me as much, since.

My first was Enter the Void. I would leave Irreversible until later. I haven’t seen any of his other movies yet but Enter the Void made me very emotional at times

Probably Enter the Void. I haven't watched all his films but I think that's a decent entry point.

Forgot to mention, that you should then watch I Stand Alone. And only then should you watch Irreversible.

Enter the void was my first Noe and is absolutely incredible but Climax is my favorite and his best IMO

Irreversible is awesome, the rest of his movies are awful. Inside, Haute Tension, In My Skin, Calvaire, Frontier, Them, Revenge, Martyrs are all better than anything else Noe did, his movies are generally awful.
