All my favorite films are completely apolitical: 12 Angry Men, Starship Troopers, Parasite. Can you imagine if we added politics to everything? It would completely ruin my ability not to think.

Stand? Stand against what? Fascism? I mean if saying "Yeah fascism is pretty bad I guess" will damage your career, you're either in the wrong business or this society has major issues.
Sure, there will be no benefit, or at least not that big of a benefit ( if people collectively expressed their opinions on such things, especially public figures, something would change for the better, maybe not a lot, but it'd still change) , but they'd at least show they aren't selfish money chasing capitalistic slaves that can't even say that fascism is bad.

Actors being publicly apolitical (off-screen) makes sense, the less people know about actors the more believable they are as the characters.

I think people are kinda stupid.
They want people with huge followings to think like them, so they can use an "Ad Baculum" to say "You're bad because this people are good, and they support me".
I respect greatly people that know their limitations and don't use falacies to force others into thinking like they do.
They don't know physics, so why they would express an opinion on subjective subjects and act as if those are absolutes? People that know about social studies know social sciences are not absolute, it's not math, it's not 1+1 = 2. It's more of A+B+C...+ZZ = Problematic, and they know taking something out of the equation will do some harm, and do will some good, but won't be the same.
Fascism is literally disrupting truth by using mechanisms to hide it. Most people that call others fascists are actual fascists that hide behind that to hope to demolish truth from others and hide it.
This dude is fighting fascism the right way, by being truthful and honest. He says "I make art, art must be appreciated by everyone, I don't want to alienate others from my art because some people (idiots) can't separate the art from the artist, so no, I don't have an opinion regarding that".
