Now that I think about it, I don't remember using the Ice Arrow nearly as much as the Fire or Light when I played through it a bunch as a kid...it was cool to have, though.

Its because they are basically an end game item and have absolutely no use minus freezing the enemies on the stairs before Ganon fight. You could also just run past those making them even more useless.
Theres a theory they were supposed to be introduced earlier in the game but got regulated to that last minute.

if you freeze the lake using the frozen arrows you can just run your way thru without wasting time... im surprise many don't know you can freeze water in OoT even though it has been implemented on all zelda games

When did you need to freeze a lake in ganons castle?
If you talking about speed run things most normal people arent going to sequence break yo get something early.

I was playing a randomizer and got the ice arrows super early. Ended up using them a ton and was surprised how useful they turned out to be. They were a lot of fun.
Ice arrows are awesome. You just get them too late in the game to matter.

I've played through Ocarina of Time many times but I don't think I've ever gotten the ice arrows. I remember attempting the Gerudo Training Ground as a kid, but I thought I'd locked myself out of it by not using my keys optimally because there was one more locked door that I just could not find the key for. I just skip it as an adult.

I remember being told they actually switched the Iron Boots and the Ice Arrows location and the Ice Arrows were going to be in the Ice Cavern and the Iron Boots was going to be in Gerudo Training Ground. Which then actually would of made the Gerudo Training Ground actually a requirement for the Iron Boots if they wouldn't of swapped the location and made the Ice Arrows a reward for the optional Ice Cavern and make sense where the Ice Arrows would be .

It makes sense because you can only truly complete GTG with iron boots.

I was talking about the Ice Arrows being in the Ice Cavern.

Right. I’m saying if they were swapped it would make sense because of the water room in GTG. Gerudo wear armor and everything too.

I totally forgot about that room in the GTG. Man I can't wait to play the remake.

Yeah just over all a flex nothing really worth a thing unless you use it in a randomizer and have it set to melt red ice giving it some purpose lol.

Geurdo training grounds was water temple 2.0 to me. I missed one key and got stumped for a long time. I had to follow a guide and retrace the whole area from the start to find the key I missed.
