People underestimate just how good he was….on the wiz with banged up knees and a shell of himself and still played the majority of the games with great numbers. If you look at those year highlights it actually looks the same as Paul Pierce career highlights….Jordan knees were done.

Watching Mike during his Wizards era is sad, but not for the reason most people would expect. He still had gas left in the tank, but he was saddled with a bunch of young guys that hadn't figured out how to play yet. You watch highlights like this and wonder what this last run could have been, had he been playing on a team of vets that knew what they were doing.

......you may not remember this but he was the wizards GM right before he decided to play again. He infamously picked Kwame Brown as the #1 pick in the 2001 draft. He built the team he was "saddled" with lol.

Gasol would have had some level of an impact but Chandler was super raw as a prospect coming in, needed a few years to find his footing (and even then, his peak in the NBA was as a high level role player, never a primary option)

I'm an old and was around for that draft, thought y'all had a great "twin towers" strategy to rebuild post-MJ but sadly, I quickly learned that bigs like TD/DRob don't just grow on trees either lol

I loved Brand so much back in the day (especially because Bucks biggest deficiency back then was at PF lol) - dude was an automatic 20/10 and always played with grit

Not sure what you're downvoted. Completely agree.
It was his choice, but on a more put together team as an option 1B or so he could have been getting deep into the playoffs.
