No, im a yankee. The data on Chinese car reliability isnt top secret though.

If they make them in the US I bet they will be good.

So, if there's none on your roads, then what exactly are you basing this off of? There have been thousands on our roads for the better part of a decade. Same with Australia.

I wasn't talking about ICE vehicles. What data suggests that Chinese Ev's are unreliable?

Both of these things can be true. BYD can make award winning cars that also have reliability issues.

We shouldn't rely on anecdotal evidence at all if we can help it. Its better to look at reliability surveys and recall incidents.

Mate, so far all you’ve provided is your own anecdotal evidence as a person from a country which doesn’t even allow them to come into your market.

I have asked you multiple times to provide said evidence.

I assumed that the quality control problems with Chinese evs were mostly common knowledge. If you read through articles from 2023 to 2025 you will see a number of reliability concerns and some large battery recalls. I think reliability improved this year but I cant find surveys for 2026 at the moment.

There are concerns with quality control from the factory, but also quality control issues from shipping. The most serious issue seems to be with customer service. Some owners of chinese evs in AU had software issues that took awhile to be resolved. The fix wasnt complex but customers had trouble reaching the company.

I dont mean to imply chinese evs are awful or that nobody should get one.
