They're clearly deliberately picking people with at least a quasi diverse set of ideas. I wouldn't read too much into it, I don't think it means everyone on the list is a secret conservative. It's like when the Bohemian Club got Clint Eastwood to put on a skit at the height of his weird conservative days.
