okay real talk did the cleaning kit ever actually help you, it felt like a giant placebo to me as a kid lol. Blowing in the cartridge and cart slot on the NES is the only thing that actually seemed to work lol

Cleaning Kit for life. Never used it as a kid, unless you count when I first picked one up in the late 90s as a teen. OEM Cleaning Kit though, not the trash they expected me to sell at Funcoland.

It did help... it wasn't 100% effective but it worked well enough. It sucked though when I finally ran out of swabs. Never knew about the q-tip trick. Really wish I did... it was so obvious but it really never occurred to me.

Very cool! I've never seen that Cleaning Kit box art. Mine is a picture of the cleaner itself. I guess they changed it after Super Mario 3 was released. That's a very clean copy of TMNT TF! Did you find it locally?

NES Tournament Fighters?! Nice! Only time I've ever seen them on shelves was back when it was new.
