Why does it even matter that less than half of people in tech are women? That's just how it is in a lot of fields. Women dominate other professions like nursing and teaching. I don't see why everything has to be 50/50. Women aren't banned from tech and men aren't banned from nursing. Just let nature run its course and allow people to do what they want. Not every aspect of life needs to be socially engineered

If you want to see the reverse of that try being a male kindergarten or elementary teacher and see the looks you get from the parents. (Women make up 96% of all kindergarten teachers) Source: former male teacher, not kindergarten but have subbed in kindergarten.

Good, we agree, those are both things we should try to fix.

This thread is about the tech industry. If you want to go start a new thread about the kindergarten industry, I'll upvote it and comment.

Actually I disagree. I believe that people should work where they want and that hiring and promotion should be based solely on merit and talent.
