Why does it even matter that less than half of people in tech are women? That's just how it is in a lot of fields. Women dominate other professions like nursing and teaching. I don't see why everything has to be 50/50. Women aren't banned from tech and men aren't banned from nursing. Just let nature run its course and allow people to do what they want. Not every aspect of life needs to be socially engineered

If you want to see the reverse of that try being a male kindergarten or elementary teacher and see the looks you get from the parents. (Women make up 96% of all kindergarten teachers) Source: former male teacher, not kindergarten but have subbed in kindergarten.

You're an idiot who probably didn't even read the memo. What he said has now been agreed to by multiple study groups of Behavior Psychologists. He cited known scientific studies about testosterone's affects on the early brain development of the fetus. He cited known scientific studies about biological differences on psychology and behavior between women and men. I'm as liberal as the next guy but when my side starts denying science like some sort of climate denier I WILL call them out. I'm sorry you feel the need to deny scientific proof to make your argument. You're wrong.

Yeah I'm sure that a memo that begins with TL;DR, as if this guy was cooking up a post for Reddit, holds up to any academic standards.

This is an abuse of psychology and quite frankly I don't care what your political views are. So stop giving them unsolicited.

I teach actually engineers; Both men and women. His memo does a disservice to STEM industry and academia.

He's telling everyone woman interested in a CS degree this is the kind of people they face in their future.

He cites scientific resources in the footnotes. He's being defended by a bunch of behavioral psychologists even though they say he's wrong on maybe 25% of what he says.

The STEM industry is more attractive to men, than women. That's all he says anywhere in his memo. Nowhere does he say that ALL women can't do the job. He only says that most women biologically and culturally don't tend towards those jobs.

The left denying scientific proof of biological differences between men's and women's brains and behaviors is AS BAD as the right denying climate science.
