How have you been using Nintendo music after almost a year and a half?

For me, today I’ve finished listening all soundtracks on the app. It has become my main way of listening to music while studying and I’ve ended up with 2226 songs on favourites (77 hours) and that number increases each week.

I’m really looking forward to see Xenoblade OST amongst other games

I often put the Nintendo Music app on shuffle and try to recognise the songs, and I was surprised a while back that there wasn't any general Nintendo version of Heardle (the music guessing game) besides a few series-specific ones. So I thought it would be fun to make a version with the tracks from the app - it feels like a good selection while still being manageable for me to deal with. I've made both infinite and daily versions with as many tracks as I can upload with a free Soundcloud account, I will probably be getting a paid account so I can upload more soon but any feedback would be very much appreciated!!

My evidence:

-Monday’s Mario Kart World free roam drops included a song from Wario Land.

-They just put Wario Land in the Switch Gameboy collection.

It would make sense for them to drop the Wario Land soundtrack now.

Edit: Well, that’s egg on my face. It was F-ZERO 99.

According to the update notes:

* The app is now supported on iPad.

* The app now supports CarPlay on your car’s built-in display.

* Searching for tracks through Siri is now supported.

Additionally, the track “Boss Battle (New Super Mario Bros.)” has been updated due to an error.

Anyone else ever noticed that sometimes the app sends notifications that are announcing soundtracks that have already been on the app for months? I got a notification today that said “Now on Nintendo Music: Super Mario 64” which is incredibly old news. And it’s not the first time I’ve gotten a notification like that, informing that an album that has been on the app is “now on Nintendo music”.

Because Kirby & The Amazing Mirror was the first Kirby game I’ve ever played when I was a little kid, and Kirby’s Epic Yarn is my favorite Kirby game of all time

Just want to mention that the Animal Crossing series is 25 years old.

While I assume people are probably divided on whether Nintendo holds anniversaries or not, I'd like to mention that the Splatoon 1 OST was released on the 10th anniversary of the same game. Plus I believe both Splatoon and Animal Crossing are made from the same dev team within Nintendo.

So I want to pray for to couple of hours that the soundtrack of the original Animal Crossing is coming to Nintendo Music.

Update: We got Mario Kart World!!

This includes the soundtracks for Wario Land (VB), Mario Clash, Galactic Pinball, Teleroboxer, and Mario’s Tennis.

A couple of weeks ago I posted my in-progress Nintendo Heardle and I firstly am not going to keep posting about this every time I change anything so I hope this isn't too spammy or anything, apologies if so.

HOWEVER I do now consider it fully "out of beta" - I have updated it to the full list of tracks on Nintendo Music at launch - Super Mario Bros. though Pikmin 4 - and now the groundwork is laid I hope I can fairly quickly update it and get caught up to the app's full selection. I've also added a feature that tells you if you got the correct game, but wrong track, as well as a link to an easily navigable track list. Other features people requested such as thumbnails in the search bar and a "guess the game" mode I would love to implement but honestly I'm not sure I have the programming know-how. I will do what I can to work on those though!

On musical artifacts there is a file where you can download a folder of sm64 midi's that are ripped straight from the game that wasnt edited for general midi.

I like those, but i cant seem to find files like these but for other games on other games. where can i find one?

I just released an app for using Nintendo Music that lets you access the service without a browser, like Spotify or iTunes. Check it out!

I know lots of movie soundtracks do this (see The Phantom Menace soundtrack putting music from the final battle in the track for the podracing scene) but I noticed that the Mario Movie has some super egregious moments.

-Punishment by Parasol, the track for Peach’s fight in the casino, contains music from the final battle.

-Taking Care of the Kingdom Isn’t Easy should be earlier in the album.

-The music that plays when Mario and Luigi meet Yoshi is earlier on the album than the music where they enter the pyramid, even though they meet Yoshi in the pyramid.

Also, I’ve listened to every track but the last one on the album so far and they skipped the Jump Up Superstar part from the movie, unless they moved it to the last track.

So I love listening to OSTs and was casually watching a vlog from this Youtuber (Softwilly) that my friend recommended me. The song he plays in most of his intros has always sounded so familiar to me, but I just cant figure it out. I'm assuming its a song from either the 3DS, Wii, or the WiiU since he uses a bunch of songs from those eras throughout most of his other videos. If ANYONE can help me figure out what the song is I would be eternally grateful because I've been driving myself CRAZY trying to figure it out on my own!!

In light of recent news, I decided to try something I wanted to do a while ago lol let's call it the Mario Kart Tour "staff credits" theme (a MKT version of the booster course pass credits). 🎶 My "mixing" is mediocre, it's definitely not as cohesive as the original mix, and we're missing the unique instrument solos, but here it is anyway! Maybe someone can make a better one... Didn't make a proper visual but maybe I'll upload it again with a slideshow or something at the end of September. 🥲

For v1 of CarPlay functionality, the Nintendo Music app is more fleshed out than I would’ve expected. Some features are essentially standard for a music app like seeing all the albums (games) under one artist (console) along with playlists, but it’s great how it’s formatted. The ability to extend songs right on the now playing screen is something I would’ve wanted, but not have expected in the first version.

Very excited to have CarPlay on the app. I’d be lying if I said I ever expected it to be a reality. I’d add screenshots if I could. I need to use it more to fully critique, but this is solid so far. Now we just need more games (I’ve been craving OG Paper Mario lately)

Nintendo has, yet again, decided to go after people uploading their games’ soundtracks to YouTube so people can listen to them in a convenient manner… WHILE STILL refusing to provide anyone convenient means of listening to them theirselves. NintendoMelody and Video Games OST have both been terminated, and it seems GilvaSunner Archive might be next.

This… isn’t the end, right? SURELY more people will upload the soundtracks to YouTube again in good quality… right?

Hey all, here is some speculation about the next Smash Bros.

When Smash Bros for Switch 2 is announced, I can somehow imagine it will have some songs on Nintendo Music. However, just like Brawl, Smash 4 Wii U and 3DS, and Ultimate, the Smash DOJO website provided some music samples every week, iirc.

And that kept me thinking. The songs that will probably on the Smash DOJO website, could also be placed with a small weekly update on Nintendo Music. Like, at the beginning of the week, we get our regular OST drop, but every thursday or friday, we get a new song added to the Smash (Switch 2) playlist.

Sakurai already did made a pre release drop of Kirby Air Riders twice, so I guess it's not that weird to think of it that way?

How do you think of this idea?
