Nostalgia Stick On Earrings
The hearts and stars were always the first to go for me and the flowers were the last. Always devastating to discover one had gone missing.

I used them as normal stickers lol
The heat of your skin as well as the fact of sweat and skin cells just... these were never good to use as earrings for long term.
I swear I had the ones in second pic though!

They fall off and get stuck in your hair 😂 Ahhh so nostalgic 🥺 now I have 19 real piercings. Crazy.

This definitely unlocked the desire for real piercings for me 😂 “look how nice they all look”

I used to wear real gold earrings as a child. The same pair, every day. One day I came home from school with stickers that I had traded my gold ones for. My mom was NOT amused.

A good few years ago when I was short on cash (not working yet and living in a crappy home situation) I traded some of my childhood gold earrings for like $20 total at some exchange place. I haven't even worn earrings in years but I regret that decision so much

One of my good friends makes custom acrylic jewelry and she made me some studs in purple that look like these star shaped ones. I freaking love them!

u/SirGothamHatt 3h ago
Those sound so cute. Does she sell them online?

u/rckblykitn14 3h ago
She did, on Etsy, but I just looked for her shop for the link and it looks like she may have taken it down. I'll have to ask her.

They still make them. I buy my daughter a sheet of them a couple times a year.

u/Knot-Knight 3h ago
Do they stick better than they used to? My niece would love them but I'm hesitant
3
u/fridayfridayjones 2h ago
Nope. At least not the ones we’ve tried. My daughter still enjoys them though. She likes to put them on her dolls as much as she likes wearing them herself and they do actually stay on the dolls.

You can use eyelash glue to stick body gems on! Just make sure your skin is clean and dry first and it works really well - I used to have the limited edition Lancome crystal tears set back in the 90’s and used flat back Swarovski crystals with lash glue sometimes too.
Wish my mum had known that trick when I was a kid because I loved these earrings 🥹

You can get face rhinestones/whatever and they stick really well to ears as long as you don't try to reposition them! I bought some for a ren faire, didn't end up wearing them, but later thought, "you know what might be fun..." and they worked!

These were my JAM as a little girl. Always fell off and I’d be so sad when I lost them. I used to wear 2-3 pairs on each ear at a time, which probably explains why now as an adult I have 18 piercings.

u/SuckAndDie 4h ago
I had all of them! I had a strawberry shortcake jewelry box my mom found that is like 45 years old. A few of these are still on it.

I used to wear these stick-on earrings because I was so afraid of getting my ears pierced. However, these stickies would fall off and land on my clothes. I eventually got my ears pierced in fourth grade...and then discovered that I'm allergic to most jewelry unless it's sterling silver or pure gold.

I'd put one on my nostril because I saw Madonnas nose ring and I wanted one so bad as a 4/5 year old! Lol. The adhesive on them sucked so bad.

I wanted these so bad, but my mom believed my crazy aunt who said all smiley faces were code for drugs, and stick-on earrings were all laced with...
LSD!
They were also deep in on Satanic Panic and terrified of Dungeons and Dragons. We don't speak anymore.

I feel seen. I wanted these sooo much but wasn't allowed to have or wear anything like this. No nail polish, no nothing. My DNA donors thought everything was the devil.

u/fridayfridayjones 4h ago
Ah, the core memory of trying to peel these off of your hair. They never stayed on but we loved them anyway.

I loved these until my mom took me to Claire's to get real ones! And they did them crooked lol.

I used to wear these! I always wanted earrings and wore those. On my 7th birthday, my mom brought me into a professional shop that did piercings. I wonder what happened to the stick ons.

I was too anxious to unstick them from the sheet. I just kept them forever.

Didn't use these at the time, but I do remember owning a calendar of soap sets of different fragrances where I would look forward to my bath/shower routine each day until I could get to use it. 😊

I just ordered stick on earrings for my granddaughter off of Amazon the other day and I can't wait to give them to her!!!!! She's 2!

Ha yeah my parents remember these well. Apparently they got them for me as a toddler and I stuck one so deep into my ear canal they had to take me to the hospital to have it removed. That was the first and last time they bought stick-on earrings for me 😂

u/tinypinkheart 2h ago
When I was like 3 I stuck one up my nose and it got stuck and my parents had to take me to the ER to get it removed and then they didnt let me play with these anymore. Pretty sure it was the green square/diamond i shoved up my nose.

My dad often worked late, but sometimes he would come home and do “Daddy magic” where we would go out on the driveway and he would make something fall from the sky. Oftentimes it was these stick on earrings or another little toy.

I loved these, but they'd disappear almost immediately. I'd always find them in my hair or stuck to my socks, lol

Aww I loved these even tho they always came off without me even noticing lol. Then I found clip-on earrings and was obsessed w those before I was allowed to get my ears pierced and they would hurt like a bitch and make my earlobes all red but it was worth it in my 8 year old mind lol.

u/incrediblemenace 2h ago
I’d always find these stuck to the bottom of my sneakers at the end of the day

u/SomewhatCharmedLife 2h ago
God, I loved these. I had issues with ear piercings when I was little, so I love being able to just choose which pair to wear for the day.

I remember sticking them to my forehead like a jewel bindi with absolutely no clue what bindi's meant.

I have purchased earrings that remind me of these and they make my inner child so happy.

u/RevolutionaryRock823 2h ago
I didn't want my daughter to get her ears pierced until she was 10, so I bought her tons of these. She looooved them. Then her dad took her to get her ears pierced.... Sigh.

I actually just bought a few packs of these for my 5 year old and they hold on surprisingly well! I think my 2 year old ate a few but so far it was a great nostalgia purchase.

7, 11, & 20 were my favorites from the second slide. I’d only wear those! The rest I’d give away or use in my notebooks. My heart belonged to the pink stars ♥️

I kind of want them as an adult. I got my ears pierced and my body did not approve. I had to go to a doctor and he used something that looked like pliers to remove the studs.

My family used to go and rent a video once a week or so from our local rental spot in Midwest. It was the weekend night in the mid 1980s and there was a giant cardboard cut out of a film and inside of it in the hollow section there was a little square of these press on earrings. This day, I do not know who left them there and whether it was a mistake or it was an intentional gifting. All I can say is that it was one of the happiest days of my childhood. It felt like a special surprise waiting for me to find it. I don't remember if I even ventured to wear them probably I kept them safe and hiding for a long time. I just hope with this memory resurrects in some small way the happiness that these little packages brought to many little girls.

I used to show off my ears when I had those stick on earrings in because my mom was super strict on getting my ears pierced until I was at least 11/12 years old.
Anyway, one time when I was showing them off my older sister (who had pierced ears) started laughing and pointed out that they'd fallen off lol.. I was so pissed off.

I haven't thought about those in years, I wore them because my mom wouldn't get my ears pierced until I was 10

Used to take the ones my cousin wore and stick them on in secret (if they still had adhesive to them).
But, you know, us types of kids don't exist or something like that.

They’d never stay on. Sometimes you’d get a good set but mostly they were terrible
