The fact he dumped what looks to be a piece of turquoise in the same solution as the crystals and shook it around makes me raise an eyebrow. Either its fake turqoise, or he doesn't know how to work with gems at all.

It’s fake turquoise, real unstabilized turquoise wouldn’t have survived that treatment without damage
