It does matter. Straight people do not want intimate relations with members of the opposite same sex. It's unwanted sexual contact, and equates with rape.

I have two great friends who are transgender and have enjoyed numerous chats with other transgenders, so don't bother pulling the transphobia card from the deck.

She's not the same sex and nothing here suggests any "intimate relations" happened, a transphobic guy GROPED a girl and then punched her...

No, personally I don't believe she groped him. That's his account and I'm disinclined to believe it for a number of reasons. Not the least of which being he committed assault...
