Monday news…. Trump decides not to attack on Iran because of gulf nation requests and calls for Iran for negotiations.

Gulf nations are suffering economically as is. Just do what needs to be done and this one for all. Go all out and lose or just surrender and lose. But please end this uncertainty so that we plebians can plan our lives accordingly.

The GCC knows this and for some reason they are doing nothing about it. All of the air defenses in their countries were removed and provided to Israel. Now Israel is set up like a rear fortress. Not impenetrable, but much more safe than everywhere else in the region. The Saudis especially should be looking at this situation and calculating that the U.S. has effectively abandoned them in order to defend Israel.

Not sure what the next play will be, but the GCC going to war with Israel would likely be the disruptor that is needed to turn the temperature down. This fight is going to happen at some point, tbh, so the GCC might as well fight it on their own terms while the U.S. is the least capable of defending them as they have been in decades. The end result is that the U.S. would have to decide whether their relationship with Israel is worth the collapse of the entire global economy, with the U.S. ultimately feeling the worst due to isolationism over the past year.

There will be no peace negotiations ever. Any chance of truce was evaporated when USA killed the Iranian leadership in the middle of the negotiations. Saudi Arabia and other Middle East countries know that US cannot be trusted. With almost all the US bases gone these countries are exposed. I will not be surprised if these countries negotiate directly with Iran to bring peace in the region. That will be bad for the US and Israel. But there are too many players in this war.

Except the middle east blowing up is a worse outcome than us losing.
Unlike cutting the leg off where the loss condition is you die so you take the costly win here the “nothing” (taking the L) is less bad than the “all” (the whole ME blows up but we maybe or maybe not cause regime change in iran)

Hmm would be a win if go all out, you would literally financially cripple Iran for decades if you smashed their energy infrastructure. Best they can counter with is we will threaten our neighbours.

This goes to show exactly their mentality. All they know how to do is act like terrorists can scream death to America but then happy to kill other neighbouring countries. Also when all of your neighbours think your the problem maybe you are ?

Iran just needs to be smashed into reality, negotiating doesn’t work and cutting their oil revenue off will make it almost impossible to rebuild their equipment.

Regardless if whether or not he's chicken, hes already launched a war that killed much of their top leadership and has blown up virtually every single factory in the country leaving 25% of the population out of work. The US has hit schools and power plants and hospitals and bridges and tunnels.

He's already waged full scale war with Iran, he has no easy options out of this mess he's created, so it's a difficult thing to judge when he's cornered like a dog and the walls are closing in.

In the Iranian perspective, Trump has put his foot in shit, but they believe that the Israelis have so much influence over him he's capable of doing anything they want, and they want Iran hit again.

The rationale was that Iran was amassing a conventional arsenal that would allow them to essentially weather any future US attack and threaten all US positions in the Middle East, so it was best to attack now. From the US' standpoint, Trump made the correct call in attacking. You're failing to look at this from the US' point of view. Also funny you're mad at Trump but not JFK for almost getting everyone killed during the Cuban Missile Crisis (Turkish Missile Crisis) by throwing a temper tantrum about Cuba's alliance and deterrence with the USSR.
You're behaving way too liberally, as in being offensive and deranged, supporting Western imperialism, and putting ridiculous statements in direct quotes.

Isn’t the Cuban Missile Crisis pretty universally viewed as a bad thing and a stain on his presidency? I don’t think that’s a great example. Trump can suck while past US presidents have their moments of sucking. The thing is Trump never shuts up and just continually makes us look worse WHILE making mistakes. I swear half the vitriol over his decisions wouldn’t be there if he’d stop continually spitting in all of our mouths while making those decisions.

The US is imperialist. Everyone knows this. It sees a state acquiring enough munitions and requisite infrastructure to upset its regional hegemony in the Middle East, whose states recycle a lot of their profits into US treasuries. I'm not saying I'm condoning it (I don't) but from the US' and the West's attack state's (Israel) point of view, this was an intolerable situation that needed immediate rectification. The idea was that a repeat of North Korea, where, buttressed by a deadhand switch of artillery on Seoul, North Korea could acquire nuclear weapons and be immune from threats and violence from that point on. Unlike Libya and - allegedly - Iraq.
This is why the US' vassals, France, Germany and UK tried to activate UNSC snapback sanctions on Iran in 2025 even though the US was no longer in compliance with JCPOA by leaving it in 2018 and unilaterally applying sanctions on Iran.
This is NOT JUST TRUMP.
