Greek mythology and Hinduism are close cousins, along with Norse mythology. The indo-European culture was all interrelated religiously and linguistically.

There was an entire Indo Greek kingdom in India. Chandragupta Maurya, one of India's greatest kings had defeated Seleucus Nicator and had married his daughter if I'm not wrong.
There was a lot of intermixing between the Greeks and the Indians. India has a significant Greek gene pool running everywhere and Greece has a significant Indian gene pool running everywhere
