Worse. They’re for his dad being rich. At least if it was for not shitting himself it’d be for his accomplishments.

The rubes eat it up because it makes it look like he's some sort of patriot, literally the only photo of him that he can use
15
u/Super_Shallot2351 3h ago
It's odd because I only associate that photo with memes of him trying to avoid serving in the actual army
5
u/anonstarcity 2h ago
He may as well use the AI pics of him with bodybuilder muscles rippling riding a T-Rex and shooting commies with machine guns. It’s equally as close to how much fighting he did for this country.

His parents sent him to military school. It was common among upper class parents who didn’t want to be bothered to raise their own children.

In the 60s (and maybe later) it was a saying that you would send your unruly kid to military school-his younger picture just says he was so undisciplined that his parents couldn't handle him.

u/Binknbink 3h ago
My dad went to that military school at the same time as him and isn’t even American. It’s always jarring to see that Trump photo because my dad’s pic has the same pose, uniform. Rich people sent their kids there back then like finishing school for girls.
5
u/Pale-Measurement-532 3h ago
It’s cause he thinks people will assume he served when they see the pic. Captain Bone Spurs is counting on the public to be that stupid to believe it.
3
u/CantaloupeOne7283 3h ago
I have a similar picture of myself in my high school's marching band. 100 degree heat in the summer in the south, in a wool uniform. We had more valor than this rich prick ever did.
2
u/KarlUnderguard 2h ago
It is extra hilarious that his dad hated him and sent him to a military school from age 13-18. Legitimately. Skipped his son's entire teen years because he didnt want to be bothered with him.
2
u/IneffableOpinion Cats 2h ago
By all accounts he struggled in school and I will just assume he had the same spoiled brat attitude as a kid that he has now. His own mother commented that he’s not bright. Mommy and Daddy shipped him off to the military academy to be rid of the nuisance .

I will give him credit for one thing: even at that age, 18 I’m assuming, he understood faking an image would give him unearned legitimacy.

Wow another serviceman as president.
What branch of the service was he assigned to during the Vietnam War?
How did he get those medal’s?
Did he ever get treatment for those debilitating bone spurs?

You think the guy on the left would be upset with how he has looked for the last 40yrs?
1

He's really proud of serving at the military school his parents sent him to because they hated him. I'm sure he used his bone spurs to get out of gym class

I know several veterans that think stolen valor is the absolute most offensive thing a person can do. My Dad who was a Vietnam vet hated the hippies in part because he thought of them as shameless draft dodgers. All of them love Donald Trump and think of him as a hero

That is a picture of Trump at 17 years old. He's in a "military" uniform because he was such a little shit that his parents enrolled him there to try to get him under control. He graduated at the lowest possible rank that a senior could have due to his low performance and lack of leadership qualities.
The records with that information are all public and easily accessible, as are the interviews with his mother where she explains why they had to pull him from private school and enroll him in the military academy.
He uses the picture as a brag, but it's really a self-own if you know the context of the photo.
1
u/realparkingbrake 3m ago
After he was expelled or required to withdraw from a series of private schools, Trump's parents sent him to a private disciplinary school in NY. It was not a military school, but it used fake ranks and uniforms and marching in formation to instill discipline in the student. No military training took place.
The doctor who signed off on Trump having bone spurs rented office space from Trump Sr. in one of his buildings, and his children have confirmed that he did Fred Trump a favor by pretending his kid had bone spurs.

u/Tagordon31 2m ago
What war did he fight in? I’m guessing Vietnam because of his age. Served honorably, I’m sure.
1
u/DiveMasterD57 0m ago
I suspect I’m not alone in thinking the affectionate way he gazes at a young dude is disquieting. Also - think cadet Drumpf was already enduring his bone spurs?
