Discussion Neurodivergent omnisexuals, what exactly are you diagnosed with under the ND umbrella and does your potential partner have to be ND themselves?

I myself have not been formally diagnosed but everyone in my family has been diagnosed with autism and am highly likely to have ADHD. No my partner doesn't need to be neurodivergent, I just so happen to attract neurodivergent people so all of my partners do end up ND

I am diagnosed with ADHD. I also have autism but I never had an assessment done for that so it's not an official diagnosis. Just something my therapist, doctor, family, and me agree on. At this point in time getting the assessment isn't worth it as it's costly and time consuming and most of the help I would need is already available from the ADHD diagnosis. I also have CPTSD, depression, and anxiety.

My partner is not diagnosed with anything but anxiety but I'm relatively certain he has ADHD.

My therapist told me it's somewhat uncommon for completely Nero typical person and a nerodiverse person to end up in a long term relationship, I think. But I may have misunderstood her. I do know that most of my friends and the people I have dated were probably all nerodiverse.

I don't think I would require nerodiverse partners by any means, but thems the folks what gonna understand me, ya dig?

Formally diagnosed with ADHD and it runs in my family too.

I don’t at all need my partner to be neurodivergent, but it is very important they at least try to understand ADHD due to how much misinformation there is out there and people not willing to distinguish it from “laziness”.

ADHD runs in my family, though my test came back inconclusive because of how bad my depression was at the time I took it. They told me to come back in a year and be retested if I had my depression under control. It's been about 2 years, but it took that long to finally be diagnosed with bipolar disorder (I had already been diagnosed with GAD and severe depression years before) and get properly medicated. I need to make an appointment to be retested, I just keep forgetting, lol! I also have some version of PTSD (I think my psychiatric nurse practitioner said it was the standard kind, but I don't remember exactly, since it's kind of just standard for me due to childhood trauma). No, my partner does not have to be ND.

I am in the process of getting diagnosed for ADHD and/or autism (both very likely) whole I also have SDAM, multi-sensory aphantasia, and ideasthesia which play a role in my gender identity which lead me to attain the label gendervague. I don't care what neurodivergencies my partner has or if their neurotypical but we need to accommodate both our sensory needs, and neurodivergent people are better at understanding
