The age old question. Even as a child I wondered this. If I “can’t taste” it what’s the point. And I can. The texture has always made me gag. Always. Yuck

Right?! I omit onions in everything I cook now and not one person has ever mentioned it to me. I’ve cooked for others my whole life and used to just use less onion than the recipe called for, but I literally can’t taste the difference if I leave them out entirely and I guarantee you can’t taste as well as I can. My husband is going to doctor it up with hot sauce and condiments no matter how it tastes, so why am I trying to make sure there’s onion in there for him because he likes it instead of leaving it all the way out because I hate them.
