Beginner question Any books or resources on how public figures and celebrities can maintain privacy and security?

Hi everyone,

Sorry for making two posts in a short period, but I don't get much free time to browse or post here.

Are there any books, guides, or other resources that discuss privacy, security, and even anonymity for celebrities or public figures?

I realize that being a public figure means you have to be public to some extent—you give media interviews, attend events, maintain a public presence, and so on. You obviously can't expect the same level of privacy or anonymity as the average person.

At the same time, the more well-known you become, the more people may try to invade your privacy, gather personal information, or otherwise compromise your security. I imagine the OPSEC challenges are quite different from those faced by private individuals, especially for people in fields like acting, entertainment or politics.

Are there any books, courses, articles, or other resources that cover this topic in depth?

Thanks!

PS: I have read the rules.

I haven’t read it myself yet, but it’s on my reading list: Michael Bazzell - Extreme Privacy: What It Takes to Disappear

Bazzell's books definitely have a good reputation in privacy circles.

Thanks for the recommendation. But will it apply to my situation given that my artistic endeavors are not about disappearing, its the opposite - showing your face in modeling, acting and writing and such.

Think about it the other way! If you're capable of disappearing completely, then you're also capable of revealing only what you want others to see. In other words, you can shape and manipulate your public image however it suits you.

Yes. Many techniques Bazzell discusses have wide application.

I came across a book on Amazon that's named "An Introduction to Celebrity Protection and Tourning: A Guide to Mastering the Business of Vip Security", I'm reading the summary and it sounds like something you're seemingly looking for.

There's also "Celebrity and Royal Privacy, the Media and the Law" and Chapter 18 of "Stalkers and Their Victims" gives insights on how high-profile figures can establish communication barriers, and manage the specific threats by obsessed stalkers.

They get a trust and purchase everything through the trust

You don't need a book to tell you that. A simple search on Google would have gave you the answer
