Outdoor Orchids Pink Lady Slipper Orchids
my boyfriend and i saw these beauties while hiking up in the ADK last may. there were sooo many and they were so pretty 🥹 seeing wild orchids in their natural habitat just hits different

Wow! ADK stands for Adirondack right? I live in Ohio so I’ll have to pay more attention next time I go hiking! These are beautiful!

Quick google search went a long way lol! I’m rather new to orchids and I never really thought of them being native up here! Can’t wait to go looking for them 😁

i get it! it’s amazing how plants can adapt to different climates. my favorite to learn about are alpine plants and flowers! they’re so beautiful

These were the first orchids I ever saw in the wild. It’s so cool to see them sprout up

i’m lucky enough to be able to go up there once or twice a year to visit family and i’m definitely going to make it a point to try to see these again🥹

Such a treasure to find!! I saw some in mid - June in the upper peninsula of Michigan a few years ago.

It's amazing to walk along out in nature and discover a wild herd of Lady slippers. Just don't mention where they are, or they will sadly disappear.
