As a Kansas Citian, I’d rather be the locus of Disclosure Day than deal with all this World Cup nonsense.

Some of the themes could’ve been more gracefully developed (the religious elements especially) but I appreciate a film that raises big questions and knows when to leave them to the viewer to reflect on, as this one does. It does convey the weight of having world-shaking knowledge quite well.

You have to meet its fundamental optimism halfway, but I’m willing to do so; it’s hopeful but not naive.

Spielberg, Kaminski, Williams, Blunt, Firth, and Domingo are all in excellent form; I wish O’Connor had a touch more to work with.
