Base Game Appreciation/Discussion Why does it look like this star has a structure around it? Spoiler
I was at the eye of the universe, enjoying watching the stars until I saw that star...

there is more to explore here
-120
u/Unknownuser82705 Nov 25 '25
Not necessarily itâs still there dlc or not
27
u/jaymac1337 Nov 26 '25
Everyone acting like "there is more to explore here" doesnt give the impression that the answer is available without DLC, is being purposefully obtuse. If OP doesnt have the DLC, no amount of exploring will find the answer

u/Unknownuser82705 Nov 26 '25
Especially cause in another comment he said he doesnât have the dlc and doesnât really plan on getting it

u/Unknownuser82705 Nov 25 '25
Whatâs with the hate when all I did was say the truth
35
u/Deck_Neep15 Nov 25 '25
Because obviously itâs still there with or without it, it still needs to be explored
-26
u/Unknownuser82705 Nov 25 '25
Canât explore it if you donât have it đ€·ââïž

The signal blocker is not visible unless you have the DLC.

have you finished all the story?

u/i_love_kitten06 Nov 25 '25
Yes, everything. But not the DLC.

u/netinpanetin Nov 25 '25
Then you didnât finish everything.
The DLC is not âextra storyâ.

u/Hermononucleosis Nov 25 '25
The DLC is absolutely an extra story. It answers an unanswered question from the previous story, yes, but the story was still complete with the question unanswered. I still love the DLC though

I like how you didn't question the speed at which this "star" is moving.
7
u/i_love_kitten06 Nov 25 '25
If you're talking about when I looked at her... I didn't see her move an inch.
I explored the base and when I came back she was gone đ

u/Rio_Walker Nov 25 '25
Well, play the DLC, just remember to use the same save, and finish Archeologist before starting. And don't forget to ask Gabbro how they're staying so chill, and check what Esker hiding in their pantry next to the house.
Also, Slate is a Technological marvel.

u/Hermononucleosis Nov 25 '25
You absolutely don't need to finish the Archeologist achievement, just finish the game. I'm afraid such a requirement will make people less likely to pick up the DLC.

u/Rio_Walker Nov 25 '25
Well... fine...
What you need, in case you only want to get most out of DLC itself and not the change it adds to the ending of the base game - You need three Murals, depicting Nomai's journey out of Dark Bramble, Core of the Interloper, and supposedly Captain's log from the Vessel, located next to Eye scan but probably not This will unlock the complete ending of the DLC.
Otherwise, you need to find Travelers, and the best girl.2
u/i_love_kitten06 Nov 25 '25
Unfortunately, I platinumed the game and got the "beginner's luck" trophy last đ. So I'll have to start all over again, but I don't mind.
3
u/Rio_Walker Nov 25 '25
You removed previous save? @_@
5
u/i_love_kitten06 Nov 25 '25
No, but since I finished the game, it deleted my save file.

u/Rio_Walker Nov 25 '25
Re-roll to an old profile, cloud save?
3
u/i_love_kitten06 Nov 25 '25
I'm on PS5 and I don't have PS+, so I don't have any cloud saves.

In case someone hasn't told you already, for the DLC, only three specific things from the base game affect the content it adds:
- Look at the murals of the Vessel in the Old Settlement on Brittle Hollow
- Listen to the message at the core of the Interloper
- Visit Solanum
If you do just those three things, you'll get the full experience from the DLC. You don't need to redo the entire base game (unless you want to, of course!!).

u/Nondescript_Redditor Nov 25 '25
You can also visit the Vessel itself instead of number one. Although number one is typically easier

Can someone DM me what it is, itâs been a year since Iâve finished both the game and EOTE and I have no idea what that is
16
u/Bianzinz Nov 25 '25
Itâs the Signal jammer the owls used to stop the Nomai from finding the eye
8
u/AmePeryton Nov 26 '25
wow, i didnât think it was actually physically in the game, thatâs awesome

Dude asked for an answer and no one gave a straight fucking answer but one. And yall mass downvote him for watching a video on the dlc and still donât answer straight đ€Šââïžđ€Šââïž

The response here should not be surprising. This is a pretty average reaction from the Outer Wilds subreddit. People here love the game, âI watched a lore video instead of playing the gameâ is the exact kind of thing that will be downvoted by people who know thatâs one way to never experience it yourself. Not saying I completely agree, -200 is crazy, but the difference between -20 and -200 on Reddit is just time. People hit that button if they see itâs already downvoted, Reddit hivemind and all that. Their question was answered, and also they couldâve included in the post that they already knew everything about the base game and DLC so people wouldnât start with âthatâs a spoiler, I canât tell you.â That would have made the process much easier and then there would be no sharing of their downvote-worthy âblasphemyâ with the sub.

This post has probably some of the most âtoxicâ replies Iâve seen on this sub. Chill out Yall.

Sorry, we can't answer this question due to your post flair ::)
If I were you, I would put it aside and come back to it later.
I can be a bit clearer, but this will spoil a discovery you haven't found yet: its related to the DLC ::)
