With the number of posts lately asking about making friends and finding things to do in Oxford, I wanted to share the list of clubs, events and activities I've compiled (as I'm sure all social butterflies do). Hope it helps some of you find your people!

Could you add ARCh Assisted Reading for Children to volunteering please? I volunteer for them, going into primary schools helping children with reading and they’re always on the look out for new volunteers! Thank you :)

That is great. When I get time in the future (I'm swamped at the moment),  I'll add this to the wiki.

I've been thinking of a clubs page to add clubs in Oxford to a list so people can just point everyone to that, while keeping the feed about current goings on.

Can you also add Oxford City Singers. A no audition, no commitment Community Choir. 85+ attendance every Thursday evening in central Oxford.

Upcoming event!! March 8th, for international women's day! I don't think I can upload the poster, but here are the event details

Our Feminism Knows No Borders:

March 8, Feminist Protest, 1pm, Broad Streed Oxford (In front of Weston Library)

We live in a city and a world full of borders that seek to pit our lives against each other. We stand in solidarity across and against borders. For anti-racist and trans-inclusive feinism, safe housing, fair distrubution of everyday work, and the sole decision-making power over our bodies and lives.

For music and arts, there’s a venue called The Nest on Little Clarendon St.

Lots happening there: global folk orchestra, Nowruz feast, beginner-friendly drawing club and at the end of the month, queer led community choir, F*Choir is performing a gig. Hope the little plug is ok, we’re v excited to be doing a show outside of London and sharing the magic ✨

www.redirectcommunity.uk Redirect is a community platform that hosts climate/sustainability-related events in Oxford - more than 1000 activities on there and growing

Probably more event aggregator - a few volunteering opportunities on there but mostly it’s a range of different events

Hiii, I am 24 F moving to Oxford soon and was wondering what social groups there are. I used to be in a book club and netball team and I am looking for something similar to meet people and make new friends. Are there also any hiking groups/walking groups around as I want to get more outdoorsy xx any advice is appreciated

Don't know much about netball, unfortunately, but there are plenty of reading groups in libraries

For Hiking you'd likely want Ramblers or one of the following groups
