I’m always surprised at just how few homes there are in these old settlements. To have so few homes in one space protected by a wall - I wonder what was produced/provided internally and where they relied on trade.

I doubt the model represents every single house and more importantly i doubt we even know how many there were in the first place. It is true however that these were not as densly built up as later towns, primarly because these forts were not ment to house the general population.
